Gwen and Olivia's Branches is a non-denominational, spiritually-based, 501 (c) 3 tax-exempt charity. Our mission is to create a brighter tomorrow for vulnerable populations and community members by providing some of the basic essentials they need to survive and thrive, and to help out if possible whatever's needed. This includes food, clothing, personal hygiene items, school supplies, spiritual help, resources and unconditional love - one person at a time. We accomplish this by bringing these resources directly to the communities in need, without discrimination.
In areas of Philadelphia, where substance abuse is high, we serve nutritious meals twice a week (700-800 meals per month); distribute seasonal clothing, blankets, personal hygiene items, masks and hand sanitizers on a weekly basis. We take the time to ask each individual their name and treat them with dignity and respect; offering prayer, kind words of encouragement and a listening ear. In addition, if asked, we have resources for drugs and alcohol treatment, as well as phone numbers to shelters.
To support the community-at-large, we operate a food pantry where we distribute food to our neighbors, conduct drives for school supplies given away at the start of each school year, and toy drives for toy giveaways during the Christmas holiday, food baskets during all holidays and Easter baskets/Easter egg hunts to local children.
